Products & Services: The flagship consumer web site www.maps.com is a
combination content travel and commerce site serving travel, recreation, and
education/reference consumers. Maps.com is a leading retailer of mapping
products and provider of travel content resources for consumers.
The Mapping Services Group is a leading provider of digital mapping products and
services for business, government, and education.
The Education Division produces three Web based curriculum services for the K-12
market. Currently, there are over 5,000 schools across The U.S. using these
services. Included in these are the entire States of Tennessee and Arizona, as
well as two of the largest school districts in the U.S., LA Unified and Miami
Dade County.
Maps.com was one of the first producers of e-curriculum content, and continues
to be on the forefront with new innovations, including extensive new and
expanded content in the Maps101 program.
How our products are used: Maps.com's B2B products are used as graphical content
on Internet sites, in classrooms, major newspapers, briefings for the President
of the United States, local and national news broadcasts, telephone directories
and in the wireless industry.
In 1999, more than 80 million U.S. consumers purchased a map product and more
than two-thirds of all U.S. Internet consumers used an on-line mapping product.
In the business and education markets, it is estimated that 85% of U.S.
companies use geography specific products in some form, and all U.S. students
used a map product in the K-12 classroom.
