In 1998, MR.BEERŪ was founded with a single goal in
mind: to produce and market the world's easiest to use home brewing systems and
supplies. To date MR.BEERŪ has sold over 600,000 brewing kits, 4 million cans of
malt extract, and is proud to serve over 100,000 repeat customers -- making it
the most popular home brewing system in the world.
Not just a producer of brew kits, MR.BEERŪ also sells its own unique refill
packs. Each of the 16 different beer mixes are produced from a unique blend of
malts and hops. Our ingredients run the gamut from the traditional pale malt and
ubiquitous galena hops to expertly roasted crystal malts and rare Nelson Sauvin
hops.
Our International Series beer mixes focus on reproducing classic styles from
around the world. Whether you thirst for a rich and robust Irish Stout or a
delicate Bavarian Wheat beer, MR.BEERŪ has you covered. Our American Series
mixes re-create the most popular styles in the states, and each includes an
additional dose of fragrant hops added to every can to increase the hop flavor
and aroma.
MR.BEERŪ malt extracts, combined with either a pouch of Booster or unhopped
malt extract make two gallons of delicious beer. By varying our selection of
base ingredients, we have provided you with the ability to create a nearly
infinite variety of beers to suit every palate.
In addition to that, MR.BEERŪ offers an extensive line of hops, specialized
yeast strains, recipes, books, brewing accessories and beer apparel, making it
easier than ever for you to brew your beer, your way.
For quality reasons all our malts are made from the finest quality barley and
wheat grown in the fertile soils of New Zealand. These grains are harvested
before being taken into a state of the art malting house where they are sprouted
to activate the grain's natural enzymes, then dried and kilned. Then, in our
fully modern brewing facility on beautiful South Island NZ, the grains are
cracked open and heated with water to bring out their natural sweetness. This
mashing process produces a rich, sweet liquid, which is then separated from the
grain, and boiled with premium hops to produce wort with perfect color and malt
flavor, as well as a complementary bitterness. Excess water is then removed and
the concentrated malt extract is promptly canned exclusively for MR.BEERŪ.
Excluding our malt extract, about 90% of MR.BEERŪ products are made in North
America. From yeast and hops pellets grown, processed and packaged in the
Northwest to bottles and fermenters created by American glass and plastic
companies, MR.BEERŪ strives to keep its sources close to home whenever possible.
Why MR.BEERŪ?
With the MR.BEERŪ Microbrewery System you can make a myriad of different beers
simply and easily. By varying the basic ingredients, you can produce beer styles
from around the world, right in your own home. Our book, Brewing with MR.BEERŪ,
is a great place to start. After mastering the basic recipe, you can pick from
over 180 different proven recipes to brew, or start creating your own.
Perhaps you'd like to brew a specific beer like that one you had in Germany, or
Pittsburgh, or San Diego. If you can recall the color, hop character, malt
flavors, and strength, you can brew it! Designing your own brew, whether it's a
unique beer you dreamed up, or one based on a brew you fondly remember, is a fun
and satisfying experience. You'll soon find out why we say, with confidence,
that "only you can brew beer this good!"
What kind of beer can I make?
Beer is the fermented by-product of malted barley, hops and water. Other
ingredients like wheat, oats, corn, and rice can be used in conjunction with
barley to add additional character. To make even more unique beers, brewers have
long used additional sources of fermentable sugars such as honey, molasses, or
fruit.
Which combination of these ingredients produces the best beer? The answer is
really a matter of personal taste. After you've brewed and tasted a wide variety
of different beers, you'll quickly learn what sorts of ingredients are right for
you. Different occasions call for different beers. A snowy night calls for
strong stout or porter, while those hot summer afternoons require something
light and refreshingthink pilsner! At the same time, a glass of smooth, elegant
Octoberfest's Vienna Lager goes well with sausages and grilled snacks, while a
crisp West Coast Pale Ale may better complement a roasted chicken or fresh
salad. Keep in mind that home brewing is about experimentation, flavor and
inspiration!
